A holiday home accommodating up to 28 guests with an exciting history, in a rural setting just 7 km from Faaborg. The residence faces the open landscape and is close to forested areas. This is a former station building of the former Funen railway. The accommodation is distributed on two floors and on the ground-floor, the former waiting room has been converted into a living room with a wood-burning stove as well as a dining room with a service kitchen. The large hall, which used to house the ticket sales, is furnished with a sofa group. On the ground floor, there is also a well-equipped kitchen with dining area, three bathrooms, a guest toilet and four bedrooms. The first floor contains five bedrooms. In connection with the entrance area, there is a terrace with a large gas grill (gas consumption included) as well as a pizza oven fired with wood. A concrete court has been constructed which may be used for either hockey or street football. There is hockey equipment in the house. In the summer, the old, abandoned railway line between Assens and Faaborg is used for vintage trains. You can board the train just outside the building and have a truly unique holiday experience. You can make a special agreement to hire the train to take all guests to/from Faaborg.
The idyllic harbour town Fåborg is not far away from the area with nice shops, cultural sights, restaurants and an indoor swimming-pool. South Funen is known for its very special and hilly nature with Svanninge Bakker, the so-called Funen Alps, and the beautiful and unique archipelago. Take a day trip to the islands of Lyø, Avernakø or Ærø. you can catch the ferry from the harbour in Faaborg every day. Egeskov Castle - one of Funen´s largest attractions - is also worth a visit as well as Odense, the largest town on Funen, with many sights and attractions.
