The characteristics of South Jutland are the flat marshlands towards the North Sea to the west and the small fiords out to the Little Belt to east.

In the nothern part of South Jutland is e.g. Jelling, where you find the Rune Stones in Jelling, the symbol of the vikings converting to Christianity. Nearby you find two of the main attractions for families - LEGOLAND® in Billund and GIVSKUD ZOO.


The oldest town in Denmark, Ribe, is in the south-west of this region - the town with Ribe VikingeCenter and the Ribe Cathedral. 

Furthermore, the town Kolding is the home of the museum of art Trapholt and Koldinghus - an old ruin where the kings of Denmark lived thoughout 700 years.
